My current short term goals are to graduate in next summer and get a internship in New York or California for 3 months then go to Japan to learn the language and advanced technology in the world. At last, I will go back to China and want to become engineering manager in SAMSUNG for longterm.

  Back to the freshman year in 2009, when I first started at college and saw my academic advisor, He showed me all of the classes in flowchart and told me that I have to take every course on the flowchart to graduate.  Almost half of those classes are general education classes. So, at that time, it confused me that why should I take all those classes which are not seem to be necessary to my major?  After spending one or two years in college. I found out that all the classes that school arranged for us are benifitial for us to prepare us for our future in the work place and as well as in general. 
  I have already taken most of general education classes. Most of those classes are not difficult but meaningful. There were so many goals that University want to us to gain from. Lots of them are about group working and individual working which really helped me. From those courses, I learned how to think individually, appreciate the value of living in the diverse society and solve the problem with creative thinking and also I am now able to work with different major students and help each other as a group.
  One class that I feel fulfilled the goals of the University’s general education is TC 165, Dress and Diversity in Society.  That class was a lot different than I any other class that I took in high school and college. There were so many activities and speeches during the class. We were dealing with different people with different country and different major in the activity. So, one skill I learned from the activity time was how to communicate with different people. Each person has different and special skill or personality. The goal is how to absorb the advantages from them and also help each other with our different talent and skills. Another goals that course reached were the observation and research.  Observation skill was one of the best experiences in that course that I gained from.  It was not like the traditional essay. We went to some locations and observed the subjects to collect the information we need and organized them into an essay.
  To sum up, the general education courses taught me how to think myself and how to solve problems creatively.  Some of those skills I will never gain from the major class. So, I am sure that if once I finish my all the general education classes. I will be ready to be success in my job place in future.
